Starting Point

Back in 2015, CHAIN Biotech won a funding award as part of a nationwide business competition focused on spring-boarding early stage SMEs in industrial biotechnology. CHAIN chose to spend their award on brand identity and website development with Starbit. As a new company they had only a basic logo and holding page in place but a very solid plan for their business. Starbit met with the CHAIN team regularly in the early stages of the project to scope their overall digital strategy.

Solution

Starbit began the project by conceiving new options for CHAIN Biotech’s logo. This was coupled with a selection of complementary infographics to highlight the company’s specific activities. Once these were approved, work began on the corporate website design. An uncluttered layout was essential, as was cross-device compatibility - with the site looking as good on a smartphone as on a desktop. An additional consideration was that the website be easy to update by the client. Starbit built the website in WordPress, creating a custom responsive theme. More recently, a new e-commerce site has been launched to sit alongside the corporate site. This features the new sub-brand CHAIN Biotools.
